The Drama of Missions – the Biblical Basis for Missions

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

This is an excellent video done by Global Frontier Missions on the Biblical Basis for Missions.  It shows the storyline or drama of how the Bible unfolds from Genesis to Revelation. The content and emphasis of this video is also the same basic message that the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course has taught for years.

I would add Revelation 5:9 to the end of the video along with Revelation 7:9-10.

I would also add that not only that God gets glory from saving people from all nations (Rev. 5:9; 7:9; Matthew 28:18-20; Psalm 96:3), but also that God will get glory for His holiness and wrath and justice by judging sinners in hell. (judgment day: Revelation 20:10-15; Hebrews 9:27), Hell, or the lake of fire, is eternal and very, very serious:  “. . . hell, where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9:47-48).  Matthew 25:41 says “. . . depart from Me into the eternal fire . . . “.  Revelation 20:10-15 speaks of that place as “they will be tormented day and night forever and ever”; and Revelation 14:10-11 says that “the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and that they have no rest, day or night”.  Eternal hell is for those people that refuse to repent and believe in Christ – Mark 1:15; Luke 13:1-5; John 3:18; 3:36 – the wrath of God abides on them.  We must have an urgency to our evangelism and missions as part of our motivation.   Time continues until the Second coming of Christ because those that God wants to save among the nations are still out there waiting to hear and be saved.  ( 2 Peter chapter 3; Romans 10:13-15; 2 Timothy 2:10)  They have to hear and understand the message in order to be saved.  “how shall they hear without a preacher?”  Romans 10:13-15  and “how shall they preach unless they are sent?”  “sent” means churches have to send people out.  They must be mature and qualified and ready for trials and opposition.   God uses His people, the church, to reach people, through messengers who have sent out by a Biblical local church – Acts 13:1-4; Ephesians 3:6-10, 20-21 – “through the church” – the manifold wisdom of God is being made know to the rules and powers in the heavenly places – for good angels to be in awe of God and give Him more and more worship; and to rebuke the evil spirits in the spiritual warfare against the powers of darkness (Ephesians 6:10-18).   Check us out at Propempo for training on how to brainstorm and strategize and pray and raise up your own missionaries from your own local Biblical church.  “Biblical churches plant other churches”.  “When a Biblical Church sends qualified missionaries, the Holy Spirit sends them out.”  (Acts 13:1-4)  The vision and energy for this starts with the leaders / pastors/ elders of local churches.
